Virtual Coffee Group

August 29, 2025

Join us every Friday for a virtual meet up in the prairies with a friendly bunch of people looking to connect with others across the country! Make new connections and find friendships and enjoyable conversation. The focus is on a positive, inclusive, and safe support network of people who have experienced sight loss. Everyone is welcome. Virtual Coffee Group meets every Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Central Time on Zoom.

"After high school, I wanted to explore ways that I could continue to help people understand the perspective of someone who is blind and to show others how they can help. I found the Ambassador program in Alberta through CNIB (also known as Community Engagement Volunteers in other parts of the country). Not long after that, I received training on how to give an awareness presentation, and from there, I was ready to get started."

Meet the CNIB Mobile Hub – a new program delivery model where we visit your community to deliver in-person programming at no cost to you. Drop in to meet CNIB staff and learn more about free programs and resources for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. Enjoy a day of recreational and social activities, technology workshops, and much more. Experience the latest breakthroughs in assistive tech from CNIB SmartLife and connect with other members of the sight loss community.

Photographer – CNIB Guide Dogs

Volunteer photographers capture moments with future CNIB Guide Dogs and/or working guide dog teams. Photos will be used commercially for marketing, programming and fundraising purposes.

Volunteer for Photographer – CNIB Guide Dogs

Breeder Carer – CNIB Guide Dogs

Volunteers are a critical part of our guide dog program, and we’re always in need of volunteer puppy raisers and boarders. With support from CNIB Guide Dogs staff, you would play a vital role in bringing future CNIB guide dogs into the world by caring for one of our adult dogs from 12 months of age through the end of their breeding career, as well as supporting whelping and the early socialization of puppies up to 12 weeks old.
